UNHCR, UNICEF sign pact to protect Afghan children

KABUL (Pajhwok): The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) says it has signed a strategic cooperation framework with the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to protect displaced children in Afghanistan.

In a post on X, UNHCR said the UN family is uniting to support children at risk in Afghanistan.

“UNHCR and UNICEF have signed a strategic collaboration framework, strengthening joint leadership, cooperation and advocacy on child protection for displaced and returnee children, as well as vulnerable families in Afghanistan,” the statement read.
