<p style="text-align: justify;">KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP) says its technical team has conducted a comprehensive assessment of nephrite mines in eastern Kunar province.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In a post on X, the ministry said Blocks C and D in Khas Kunar district, areas one and two of Koz Chanchan, Block E in Spinkai district, Tangi Adro and area one of Chanchan Naw were closely inspected.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">It added that the team reviewed the current extraction status, stone quality, mining methods and compliance with environmental protection principles, stressing the need to implement required standards.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The ministry further said that recommendations were provided to companies and mining stakeholders to improve adherence to standard extraction practices, occupational safety and the preservation of mineral resources.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The assessment was conducted to better regulate mining activities, enhance transparency and strengthen the sector’s role in the country’s economic growth, the MoMP concluded.</p>
