KABUL (Pajhwok): Experts and policymakers from Central Asia and Afghanistan, at the Tirmiz Dialogue sidelines, emphasized Afghanistan’s role as a regional bridge and called for expanded trade, transport, and energy connectivity and continued cooperation.
In a post on its X account, the Afghanistan Strategic Studies Center (ASSC) said a high-level expert discussion between Central Asian and Afghan specialists was held on the sidelines of the “Tirmiz Dialogue on Connectivity between Central and South Asia.”
The source said participants exchanged views on strengthening regional stability and expanding connectivity, stressing Afghanistan’s strategic importance as a bridge between Central and South Asia. They also called for continued dialogue, practical cooperation, and inclusive economic initiatives.
The center added that discussions focused on advancing trade corridors, improving transport and energy linkages, and strengthening mutual trust through sustained engagement.
According to ASSC, representatives from the center, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan participated in the dialogue and presented views on regional priorities and cooperation.
The statement said the discussion underscored a shared commitment to a stable, connected, and prosperous region, noting that closer regional cooperation is essential to fully realizing the potential of integration.
