MAIDAN SHAHR (PAN): Seven suspected militants were killed while planting roadside bombs in the central province of Maidan Wardak, officials said on Friday.
Four of the rebels, planting a roadside bomb in the Kaj Qala area of Syedabad district, were killed by the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) on Thursday night, said the town’s administrative head.
Fazal Karim Muslim told Pajhwok Afghan News three of the bombers belonged to Maidan Wardak and the fourth hailed from the Deh Sabz district of Kabul.
He added two rocket launchers, a Kalashnikov and a pistol were recovered from the insurgents.
Separately, three fighters were killed as a result of an airstrike by ISAF in the Haft Asyab area of the district, the official said, giving no further details of the incident.
But a resident of the area, Syed Rahim, accused the foreign forces of killing two nomadic Kochis in the airstrike. The men were looking for a missing camel, their relatives said.
