KABUL (Pajhwok): Security cameras have been installed at all intersections of Kabul city and local residents have also installed the cameras at 2000 houses, a campaign still ongoing.
Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran told Pajhwok Afghan News the campaign to install cameras has been ongoing in some areas of Kabul city. He said people were informed about the importance of cameras and recommended their installation as part of the campaign.
About people installing cameras on their homes, he said: “It is not mandatory. Those who can afford are informed about the importance of cameras.”
As a result of the campaign, he said people in the 15th security district of Kabul had installed more than 2,000 cameras on their houses.
“Majority of the people in the 15th district have voluntarily installed cameras on their homes and so the people in the first district. Kabul police activated all cameras at the intersections and the cameras are being installed at important places.”
Zadran said security cameras played an important role in security matters and they could help prevent crimes and identify criminals. He asked Kabul residents to install security cameras in front of their houses if they could afford them.
