KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Miniter of Mines and Petroleum Shahabuddin Delawar says there is not obstacle to the implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline project in Afghanistan.
The Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) is a major natural gas project, whose agreement was signed in 2015 in Ashgabat among the member countries.
Shahabuddin Delawar met the TAPI project executive director and Turkmenistan’s ambassador, said a statement from the MoMP.
Both sides discussed fresh developments and key issues related to the multibillion dollar gas pipeline project, the ministry added.
Delawar called enhanced political, economic and security ties with Turkmenistan and other countries of the world a top priority for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
He said the TAPI project was not only benefit Afghanistan but also the three other member countries and there was no impediment to the implementation of the mega project in Afghanistan.
Both sides discussed the acceleration of work on the project and agreed to form working groups for better coordination of all aspects.
