CHARIKAR): Two people were killed and as many wounded during a clash between two armed groups in central Parwan province on Friday morning, a police official said.
The fire exchange erupted at 9am in Khwaja Syalan Bala area south of Charikar, the provincial capital, the Parwan police chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Brig. Gen. Abdur Rahman Sarjang said former jihadi commander Asadullah and his cousin Shamim were killed and two other wounded in the clash.
Public Health Director Mohammad Qaseem Saeedi confirmed the casualties, saying the injured were under treatment at a local hospital. They are said to be in stable condition.
Shamim’s mother said: “They took my son out of home on a pretext and shot him dead near the school close to our residence.” Without naming anyone, she demanded the immediate arrest of the killers.
