KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): A campaign to prevent pomegranates and other fruits from contracting diseases has been launched in two districts – Arghandab and Arghistan --- of southern Kandahar province.
The provincial Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Department has launched the campaign in collaboration with a trade company, according to Hafeezullah Syedi, the agriculture director.
He told Pajhwok Afghan News the drive, targeting 8000 fruit orchards, particularly of pomegranates, was aimed at fighting the spread of mosquito-borne and other diseases.
