KABUL, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL) on Monday said southern Kandahar province produced 150,000 tons of pomegranates this year.
A statement from the MAIL’s media office to Pajhwok Afghan News quoted the Kandahar agriculture department director Sayed Hafezullah Sayeed as saying that orchards of the province produced 150,000 tons of pomegranates this year.
He said last year Kandahar had produced 125,000 tons of the fruit. According to him, so far 26,546 tons of the pomegranates had been exported aboard.
