NATO SCR reiterates NATO’s support to Afghan security forces

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): NATO’s Senior Civilian Representative (SCR) in Afghanistan, Ambassador Stefano Pontecorvo on Thursday reaffirmed NATO Allies and partners support to the Afghan security forces, during a video call with Kandahar Governor Rohullah Khanzada and Assistant Governor Faisal Sherzai.

The two sides discussed the ongoing peace talks, the security situation in Kandahar, assistance to families displaced by war, international community’s support for Afghanistan and some other issues of mutual interest, said Baheer Ahmadi, the governor spokesperson.

Thousands of families have been displaced in Arghandab, Zherai and Panjwai districts as a result of recent clashes.
