SHARAN (Pajhwok): The Taliban have blown up a long bridge in south-eastern Paktika province, an official said on Thursday.
Police Spokesperson Shah Mahmood Aryan said the Taliban have blown up a long bridge on the Sharan-Urgon road in Paraw locality.
He said after the destruction of the bridge, hundreds of passengers on both sides stranded and facing problems.
Adel Ahmad, the resident of locality, said: “Besides this long bridge, the militants have blown up another small bridge as well.”
Neighbouring Paktia Province Governor Mohammad Haleem Fedae said the Taliban blown up a bridge in Paktika and put common people in deep troubles.
The Taliban, however, rejected the claim. Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesperson said they were nothing to do with blowing up bridges.
It is worth mentioning that in the past five years it was the fifth time that bridges and culverts on Sharan-Urgon Highway are blown up
