Qatar evacuates 300 Afghan, foreign nationals from Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): Qatar has evacuated 300 Afghans including media persons and cricket team players from Kabul to Doha, a top Qatar official said on Thursday.

Lawlawa Rashid Alkhater, Qatar deputy foreign minister and spokesperson, said besides Afghan citizen evacuees included Japanese, Belgium, Ireland, British, German, French, Swedish, Canadian citizens.

She said these individuals would stay in Qater, undergo Covid-19 tests and other necessary medical test until the next destination is determined.

It is worth mentioning that during earlier evacuation mission from August 15 to 30, over 124,000 people mostly Afghans left the country.
