Recovered cash deposited in special MoF account: DAB

KABUL (Pajhwok): Cash recovered from individuals in the previous government has been transferred to a special account of the Ministry of Finance (MoF), a statement from Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) said on Sunday.

The cash was recovered from previous government elites in Khost, Kabul, Panjsher and Logar provinces and secured at the treasury of DAB, the statement said, adding that now the amount has been transferred to account No. 3000208203041.

“When the amount was seized, DAB officials said that this amount would be secured in the DAB and Islamic Emirate will ensure its safety thus the amount was protected and now transferred to the MoF special bank account.”

The amount included 35,016,486 afs, $377,995,15, 4,507 Euro, 35,030 Indian rupees and 300, UAE Dirham.

Besides cash amount some gold were also recovered and the gold was still kept in DAB treasury.
