FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): A widow woman in western Ghor province who had no option but to beg for survival of her family has been provided assistance by a welfare organization.

According to Pajhwok report on December 14, a widow who begs in Ghor for the survival of her children had called for immediate help, saying that if they do not helped, her sick children will perish.

The widow, named Fatima, a resident of the Allah Yar area west of Firozkuh, the capital of Ghor province, told Pajhwok Afghan News that her husband had been killed before the fall of the republic and had since taken care of her young children.

Fatemeh, who is deprived of the blessings of literacy, says that at first, when her husband was killed, she supported her three children by working in people’s homes, but now, due to increasing poverty, she is unable to find work.

“Thank you very much, we received assistance because of your repot. I was not provided aid in the past, my child got sick due to cold weather and we had nothing to eat. Life became so difficult after the death of my husband, we spent days and nights by begging and get support from our neighbors.”

She also aid providing agency for their support and demanded more assistance in the future.

Fatema after receiving aid thanked Pajhwok Afghan News for reporting her worsening economic situation and said the Pajhwok report helped her being assistance.

Fazal Haq Faeq, in-charge of the aid providing agency said: “Reports prepared about less fortunate families in Ghor have been provided with aid and bring smile on their faces. We provided assistance in support of Noor-e-Safa Organziation.”

He said the aid included cooking oil, rice, tea, beans, salt and other essential items. He pledged more aid to these families in the future.
