KABUL (Pajhwok): Some 25 million saplings of various species have been planted nationwide, agriculture minister Mualvi Abdur Rahman Rashid said on Saturday.
Addressing an event marking farmer’s day in Kabul, the minister said orange, date and olive orchards were planted on 6000 acres of land in eastern Nangarhar province alone.
A three-day exhibition of the country's agricultural products was also inaugurated on the occasion.
Rashid said the exhibition would have a positive impact on the domestic products market.
He said agricultural products, agricultural machinery and handicrafts were on display in hundreds of booths.
