CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Wheat output surged by 20 percent in central Parwan province this season, an agriculture official said on Tuesday.
Mawlavi Mohammad Rahim Numani, Agriculture and Livestock director, said this year farmers in Parwan harvested 112,770 metric tonnes of wheat against last year’s 93,975 metric tonnes from 26,850 hectares of land.
He linked the surge in wheat yield to the distribution of refined seeds, prevention of diseases, the use of quality urea, technical cooperation offered by agriculture experts and the use of technology.
Numani said the Agriculture Department was striving to improve the standards of agriculture . . .
