KABUL (Pajhwok): Officials of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the Head of the Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India (TAPI) Gas Pipeline Project Murad Amanov held an online meeting and discuss the security of the multi-national project.
Without disclosing detail of the meeting, the MoI said the meeting discussed the security strategy of the scheme based on international standards and coordination between relevant institutions.
TAPI is a $10bn project which has the capacity to transfer 33bn cubic meters of natural gas annually.
According to reports, Afghanistan will receive hundreds of millions of dollars from Pakistan in the form of transit fee when the project gets underway
In addition, the country will receive 0.6 billion cubic meter of gas. The project will also help generate jobs for the residents of area from the pipeline passes on.
