SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Residents of northern Jawzjan province have donated over 11 acres of land to the Education Department for the construction of schools.
The Education Department has also urged welfare organisations to provide support for the construction of schools in the province.
Currently, 129,000 students are being imparted education at 407 schools by 2,596 teachers in Jawzjan. Forty-three percent of the schools are without buildings.
Education Director Maulvi Mohammad Tahir Jawad called the lack of school buildings a challenge, saying efforts were ongoing to address the issue with the support of aid agencies.
