GARDEZ (Pajhwok): UNICEF has provided stationery for 115,000 school students in southeastern Paktia province, which will be distributed before the start of the new academic year.
Paktia education director Ahmad Jalal told Pajhwok Afghan News: "UNICEF provided stationery for 150,000 students, which will be sent to all schools in the province before the start of the school year.”
He said UNICEF provided a total of 5825 stationery kits and one kit was for 20 students. He thanked UNICEF for the stationery, saying due to poverty, students could not afford to buy these items.
Student Noorullah told Pajhwok such assistance was a great cooperation with students and the educational process. He called on other organizations to provide similar assistance to the education sector.
Previously, UNICEF will provide such materials to first class students in Paktia, but this time the fund provided stationery for students of class one to sixth.
