JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The Torkham crossing between Afghanistan and Pakistan was fully reopened on Saturday after remaining closed for six days against travelers and cargo trucks
The Afghan authorities closed the key crossing last week, accusing Pakistan of failing to honor some pledges. The move left hundreds of vehicles stranded on both sides loaded with commercial goods.
Quraishi Badloon, Nangarhar information and culture director, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the crossing was reopened on Saturday around 6am for both civilians and traders as a result of negotiations between Pakistani and Afghan officials.
