MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): For the first time about 2,000 cartons of grapes have been exported to Russia from northern Balkh province, an official said on Sunday.
Asadullah Asadi, director of Balkh chamber of commerce and investment, told Pajhwok Afghan News a private company transported 20 tons of fresh grapes to Russia from Balkh province on Saturday.
He said the grapes will be first transported to Uzbekistan through Hairatan port and from there to Russia.
He added in the last few months, exports from Afghanistan to neighboring and regional countries had increased.
