SHEBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Cotton yield in northern Jawzjan province has increased by over 40 percent this year, an official said on Sunday.
Local farmers, however, complained against drop in the price of cotton and lack of proper market place for their product.
According to the Agriculture and Livestock Department this year cotton cultivated on over 5,640 hectares land which produced over 8,000 tonnes of cotton, last year cotton was cultivated on 5,600 hectares of land which produced 5,600 tonnes of cotton.
