KABUL (Pajhwok): US special envoy for Afghan women, girls and human rights Rina Amiri has raised the urgent situation of Afghan refugees being deported to Afghanistan with Pakistan ambassador to the US Masoud Khan.
They discussed the impacts on women, other vulnerable groups and the risks and challenges they face in being returned to Afghanistan, Amiri wrote on her X handle.
“We also urged all states, including Afghanistan’s neighbors, to uphold obligations for the protection of refugees, including the right to seek asylum, and to particularly ensure at risk individuals are protected from being forcibly returned.”
