JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock department in eastern Nangarhar province estimates this year’s peach production at nearly 9,000 tons --- 1000 tons up over last year’s 8,000 tons.
Ajmal Subhani, a spokesman for the provincial Agriculture Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News that peach gardens exited on 1,290 acres of land in 15 districts of the province.
“Peach orchards have been established in Behsud, Kama, Kuz Kunar, Surkhrud, Sherzad, Achin, Batikot, Lalpura, Khogyani, Chaparhar, Goshta, Dara-i-Noor, Kot and Momand Dara districts.”
