JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Six Islamic State (IS) or Daesh fighters, including their leaderNasim, have been killed in a US drone strike in the Haska Mena district of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Sunday.
Police spokesman Col. Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal told Pajhwok Afghan News the unmanned aircraft struck a Daesh hideout in KangariKando locality on Saturday night.
He said: “The target was accurately hit by the drone on the basis of intelligence information.”
Sangar Shenwari,a resident of locality, said some IS members had been killed in the overnight raid, but the exact number of the dead was yet to be ascertained.
Daesh militants have not yet commented on the drone strike. Such raids in the province, intensified recently, have yielded positive results.
