MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Investors and carpet weavers in northern Faryab province on Saturday complained about what they called slow-paced construction work on the industrial park in Andkhoi district, fearing the negligence would damage the carpet industry.
The carpet weaving industry recently witnessed a downward trend amid investors warned the government to accelerate construction on the vital project.
Bordering Turkmenistan, the Andkhoi district is the hub for carpets export, which has worldwide popularity in terms of quality. Most of the dwellers are associated with the carpet-weaving industry.
