SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): A private education centre has been established in Shiberghan, the capital of northern Jawzjan province, to provide leaning opportunity for less fortunate children, a move highly appreciated by experts who demanded other well-off individuals to the same.

Ustad Folad Baig Qoyash, head of the Sitaragan Education Centre, during an exclusive interview with Pajhwok Afghan News said that due to economic problems some students from financial unsound families were unable to continue their education.

“Therefore we wanted to arrange learning opportunity for girls and boys who did not have the ability to pay their fee.”

The facility provided free of cost English language, math and physics learning opportunity for 100 girls and 50 boys.

Qoyash said this progamme was underway from the past two months.

He said: “We train these students at different times; If the number of students from poor families increases, we also have professors and other suitable places to teach them for free.”Roina, one of the students of this centre, said due to financial problems she was unable to continue her education.

“We are very happy and we thank the head of this academy for offering this opportunity,” she said.

Romila, another girl studying in this centre, said only her father is working and it was far from hid financial strength to provide fee for the learning for his children.

Zarif, another student, said: “We thank the leadership of our course. We have no money to pay fee but now we study freely.”

Mohammad Arif Anwari, a lecturer at Jawzjan journalism faclty, said the future of the country belonged to the young generation, the more youth are educated the more the future of Afghanistan is bright.

“At our university level, we had the experience of holding short-term English, speech and computer training courses for boys and girls in different courses, which was very effective and all male and female students were very satisfied with the courses,” he said.

He said other education centres should take similar steps and their focus should be girls.

Religious Scholar Mawlavi Samaruddin said that education was compulsory on men and women, adding that women and girls also had the right to education and a state government should work hard to education its people.

Referring to the free education system, he said such initiatives had hug reward.

Jawzjan Education Director Mawlavi Mohammad Tahir Jawad said the existence of tutions and courses along side schools and universities were of vital importance.

He added: “We support these tuitions in line with the education laws of the Islamic Emirate,” he added.

Jawad said currently a large number of courses were open in Shiberghan and Jawzjan districts in which a large number of girls and boys getting education.
