KABUL (Pajhwok): One hundred and sixty-five development projects have been implemented in 22 districts of the Kabul this year and 258 new projects for next year awaited final approval, an official said on Wednesday.
Niamatullah Barakzai, the cultural affairs advisor of the Kabul City Municipality, told reporters at the Government Media and Information Centre (GMIC)
This year, 165 development projects were on the agenda of this department, with 6.4 billion afs being provided from Kabul Municipality's own internal revenues.
He added that of these projects, 18 have been implemented, 82 are in the process of implementation, and the remaining projects will be implemented during this year.
He noted that since the beginning of September, 54 kilometers of public and secondary roads have been constructed in Kabul, and about 43 kilometers of other roads have been repaired.

Barakzai added that during this period, 372,000 metric tons of garbage have been transported from Kabul city and 13,200 stray dogs have also been collected by this department.
The official stated that the Kabul Municipality has incurred about 1.6 billion Afghanis in property damage to people this year, and this damage has exceeded three billion Afghanis over the past three years.
The cultural affairs advisor to Kabul Municipality said that the construction work of more than 1,241 buildings in different areas of the city that were violating the law have been stopped and will resume their work after completing the documentation process and receiving permits.
Barakzai added that since the beginning of September this year, 417 building permits have been issued to citizens by the Kabul Municipality.
Mohammad Qasim Afghan, head of the Kabul Municipality Planning, Policy and Monitoring, said the development plan for the next year has been completed and sent to the leadership's office for approval.
